About Chloe Chong
For people who are trying to move forward but find that past experiences still affect how they feel and relate to others.
Sometimes, the things we struggle with today have roots in experiences we may not fully understand. You might find yourself repeating familiar patterns in relationships, feeling anxious even when things seem fine, or being harder on yourself than you would ever be with someone else. You may understand, intellectually, why you feel the way you do, but still find it difficult to change.
Chloe works with adults who want to better understand these experiences and find new ways of relating to themselves and others. She believes that meaningful change begins with curiosity, compassion, and the opportunity to explore your experiences without feeling judged.
Chloe Chong's Story
With a background in forensic psychology and mental health counseling, Chloe has developed a particular interest in how trauma, early experiences, and relationships shape our emotional lives. She is especially interested in the ways people adapt to difficult experiences and how those adaptations can continue to influence their sense of self, even when the circumstances around them have changed.
Her work also reflects an interest in the experiences of Asian and Asian American communities, including first-generation individuals and those navigating intergenerational family dynamics. Family expectations, cultural values, and the pressure to meet others' needs can shape how we understand ourselves and what we believe we are allowed to want. Finding a sense of identity while navigating these expectations can be complicated, particularly when personal needs and family responsibilities feel at odds.
As an LMHC trained in EMDR, Chloe supports clients in exploring the experiences that continue to affect them while developing a greater sense of self-understanding. She believes that people deserve the opportunity to understand themselves beyond the difficult experiences they have lived through.
What It's Like to Work With
Chloe Chong
Chloe brings warmth, patience, and curiosity to her work. She takes time to understand what clients are experiencing rather than making assumptions about what they need. Therapy is a collaborative process, with room to explore difficult emotions, recognize familiar patterns, and develop practical ways of navigating everyday challenges.
Her approach integrates EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), attachment-based approaches, and mindfulness. Depending on a client's needs, sessions may involve working through painful experiences, learning to manage anxiety, or exploring why certain relationship dynamics continue to feel difficult.
She pays attention not only to what clients want to change, but also to how those patterns may have developed in the first place. Responses that feel frustrating in the present may once have helped someone feel safe, maintain relationships, or meet expectations. Understanding these patterns can create room for new possibilities.
Chloe works with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship difficulties, attachment concerns, and questions of identity and self-worth. She also enjoys working with clients who want to understand themselves more deeply, establish healthier boundaries, and develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves.
